Question: Why do headlights fade or become so damaged over time ?
Answer : Headlights fade as result of age, possible not – cleaning neglect or the vehicle being exposed to various harsh weather elements over a period of time, such as dull fading or yellowing and even water marks.
Other contributing factors of faded and dull lenses can also be daily highway or long distance driving that form a pitted – sandblasted texture on the headlights and normally feels rough to the touch.
Our process restoring headlights involves the following :
- First we inspect and examine the headlight lens to make sure that it can be restored.

- Once we have determined the lens can be restored we proceed.
- By cleaning the lens of any dirt and debris that might still be on the headlight
- Then carefully masking off the headlight, covering the vehicles paintwork and bumper to not cause any marks on the paintwork during the restoration.
- Proceeding with our unique x 3 phase wet sanding removing – the dull and faded, yellowing layer of the lens and with the second and third phase wet sanding removing the previous phases sanding.
- Our unique wet sanding also removes pit marks and deep scratches
- At this stage the lenses appear almost brand new !
- Then, we buff and polish the lenses to a high gloss finish
- last but not least – we apply a UV type polish to finish the restoration.

The entire process takes 45 min- 2 hours to complete, depending on severity of the lenses.
